KOLKATA, INDIA – Garden Reach Shipbuilders and Engineers (GRSE) Ltd, a leading Indian shipbuilding company, and Medha Servo Drives Pvt Ltd, a Hyderabad-based company specializing in electrical and electronic equipment, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to jointly manufacture advanced electrical and electronic systems for both naval and commercial platforms.
This collaboration aims to leverage GRSE's extensive experience in shipbuilding and system integration with Medha Servo Drives' technological expertise in electrical and electronic equipment. The jointly manufactured products will be marketed under the combined brand name of both companies.
The MoU encompasses a wide range of products, including control and monitoring systems, electrical propulsion systems for marine applications, and PGD components. These systems will be crucial for enhancing the performance, efficiency, and safety of various naval and commercial vessels.
This strategic partnership aligns with the Indian government's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" (Self-Reliant India) and "Make in India" initiatives, promoting indigenous manufacturing and technological self-sufficiency in the defense and maritime sectors.
GRSE, with a track record of delivering over 109 warships to the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, is also diversifying into other areas such as portable steel bridges, ship repairs and refits, and the manufacture of naval surface guns. The company has also secured contracts for building specialized vessels for both domestic and international clients.
Medha Servo Drives Pvt Ltd is a well-established player in the electrical and electronic equipment industry, known for its innovative solutions and reliable products. Their expertise will be instrumental in developing cutting-edge systems for the maritime sector.
