Israel Aerospace Industries (IAI) has further strengthened its commitment to India's defence sector with the inauguration of a state-of-the-art radar maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) facility in Hyderabad.

This new facility, operated under IAI's group company HELA Systems, will provide crucial support for India's advanced radar systems while also contributing to the country's drive for self-reliance in defence technology.

The Hyderabad facility specializes in maintaining and repairing a wide range of radar modules and sub-systems, including power systems, cooling systems, IT integration, radar testing, and calibration. Staffed by over 45 highly trained professionals and supported by over 80 field engineers, the facility demonstrates HELA's commitment to nurturing local talent and boosting expertise in India. It is expected to serve over 100 local specialists in radio frequency and microelectronics, supporting India's armed forces across all domains.

Dror Bar, CEO of ELTA Systems and Vice President of IAI, highlighted the company's dedication to providing in-country support for advanced radar systems across India's defence sectors. By enabling comprehensive product support, maintenance, and repair services locally, HELA aims to offer efficient turnaround times, high quality, and cost-effectiveness in Indian Rupees. This approach aligns with India's vision of self-reliance in critical defence technology.

HELA Systems CEO Yaniv Mizrahi described the new facility as a major milestone in India's journey towards self-reliance in defence technology. He emphasized the company's dedication to supporting India's strategic needs through world-class radar solutions, empowering local professionals, and fostering innovation.

IAI acquired HELA Systems Private Limited in 2023, further solidifying its commitment to the Indian market. This latest development underscores IAI's strategic focus on adapting to the Indian government's 'Make in India' initiative. The establishment of the Hyderabad facility follows IAI's launch of Aerospace Services India (ASI) earlier this year, another subsidiary aimed at strengthening its local presence and capabilities.

By investing in local talent and infrastructure, IAI is contributing to India's growing defence industry while also strengthening its own position in a key market. This new facility will not only provide crucial support for India's advanced radar systems but also foster technological expertise and innovation within the country.

Iai first should give ip rights of barak 8 missiles to india along with its export rights. Secondly their market on india will end after barak 8 as no new isareli import are happening or will happen in india so why investing in india, india has now developing most weapons indigenously except for engine for amca.
