The NSG until now used to put the paramilitary and the Army troops under extreme and thorough physical and mental strength tests until they joined the CCC – Commando conversion course to get into the Black Cats. But the things have changed for maybe for better now, the NSG now conducts a special psychology test for the introductory level soldiers who are aspiring to get into the special premier force the Black Cat Commandos. The Black Cats undertake the special counter terror and hijack forces happening in the nation.
The force is said to have hired a psychologist in its selection panel and experts to widen its domain, they had a high need to have a psychologist in the panel. The finalized panel is considered to assure the selection of one of the finest aspirants for one of the finest units of the country, said an official.
According to a senior official in the Union Home Ministry, soldiers who look forward to join the NSG, which is based on the lines of special counter-terror forces of the UK and Germany, will now have to undergo a special comprehensive psychological tests and questions during the 3 months of CCC – commando conversion course. There will be a cut off which will needed to be cleared by the aspirants to complete the test along with the physical tests.
The NSG has included yoga to be a mandatory drill in its daily fitness curriculum and the grading pattern. The aspirants will be graded by the newly assigned psychologists and the yoga instructors which will be reflected in the performance card of the youngs.
The Black Cats are divided into 2 groups basically – SAG (Special Action Group) and the SRG (Special Rangers Groups). The SAG is comprised of officers and jawans from the Army while the SRG is constituted of personnels from paramilitary forces.
A small group of Black cats has been deployed in the Kashmir Valley to undertake house intervention and terrorists neutralising operations in an order to tighten up the security in Jammu and Kashmir.The force has acted in infiltrating the militants in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks in 2008 and the 2016 Pathankot IAF base attack.
