In a concerning development, Pakistani Army personnel stationed in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) have been observed abandoning their standard military uniforms in favor of "Pathani suits," traditional local attire, according to India TV report.

This shift coincides with a spike in activity along the Line of Control (LoC) and follows the emergence of images depicting Pakistani forces guiding individuals dressed in Pathani suits towards infiltration routes into India.

Disguises and Deception: A New Strategy

Sources suggest that the adoption of civilian clothing is a deliberate tactic aimed at disguising military personnel, enabling them to blend seamlessly with the local population. This change in attire facilitates easier reconnaissance, intelligence gathering, and covert operations.

Reports indicate that small groups of Pakistani soldiers, dressed in Pathani suits, are actively conducting reconnaissance in the region. Additionally, they have been observed escorting United Nations delegations to the area, a move that analysts believe is intended to garner international attention and support for Pakistan's narrative in the event of any incidents.

Fears of False Flag Operations

Security experts have raised concerns that this new strategy could be a precursor to false flag operations. By dressing soldiers as civilians, Pakistan could attempt to frame the Indian Army for targeting non-combatants, should any clashes occur. The deployment of cattle near the border further complicates the situation, potentially providing cover for military activities and fueling claims of civilian casualties.

Indian security agencies are closely monitoring the situation and have briefed senior officials on the potential diplomatic and operational challenges that this new development poses.

Historical Context and Ongoing Conflict

This is not the first time Pakistan has been accused of employing such tactics. The region has a long history of conflict, with both sides accusing the other of supporting cross-border terrorism. The recent spike in terror attacks in the Jammu region, which had previously experienced relative peace, has further heightened tensions.
