Greek Military Chief Explores Indian Defense Technologies, Signals Growing Ties

General Dimitrios Choupis, head of Greece's National Defence General Staff, recently toured leading Indian defense companies, Tata Advanced Systems Limited (TASL) and Bharat Forge. The visit underscores the deepening strategic partnership between India and Greece, with defense collaboration emerging as a key focus.

General Choupis's visit included detailed briefings on Indian-made military systems including the TASL ALS-50 loitering munition, IVTOL 20 UAV, ATAGS artillery system, Tata MPV, and Kalyani ammunition. This aligns with Greece's defense modernization efforts, with a particular interest in loitering munitions, UAVs, armored vehicles, and ammunition.

The visit follows a recent trip by the Greek Prime Minister to India, indicating a strengthening of ties between the two nations. India has expressed interest in potentially exporting these technologies to Greece, potentially leading to future deals and joint ventures in the defense sector.

The visit of General Choupis highlights the growing potential for defense cooperation between India and Greece. It signals a deepening strategic partnership that could boost the military capabilities of both nations and contribute to regional security.

India is supplying Armenia, Philippines with advanced weapons. Huge amount of ammunition, explosives, fuses, weapons grade materials are supplied to middle east, EU, USA etc too. Just look at the defence export figures

India should continue to advertise our military weapons and technology capability to every country and our military need to post more defence attaché in all of our embassies so they can coordinate with that country on what military products we can provide at a quick pace. India should also encourage the private sector to conduct further research and join with government industries which can develop key and critical technology more quickly and easily.
