624 Agniveers Inducted into Indian Army at Punjab Regimental Centre

The Punjab Regimental Centre (PRC) in Ramgarh witnessed the induction of 624 Agniveers into the Indian Army during a ceremonial passing out parade held at the Kilahari Drill Square on Tuesday. The event was attended by Army officials, Junior Officer Commanding, proud parents of the Agniveers, and enthusiastic school children, with the military band adding to the grandeur of the occasion.

These Agniveers, comprising the 3rd batch to graduate from the PRC, successfully completed their rigorous 31-week military training program. During the ceremony, they took a solemn oath on the National flag, the Sri Gurugranth Saheb, and the Shrimad Bhagwat Geeta, pledging their unwavering commitment to serve and protect the nation.

The passing out parade was reviewed by Brigadier Sanjay Chandra Kandpal, the Commandant of the Punjab Regimental Centre. He acknowledged the outstanding performances of the best recruits during their training and the parade, awarding them medals for their exceptional achievements.

Brig. Kandpal extended his congratulations to the newly inducted Agniveers for becoming part of the Indian Army and joining one of its oldest and most prestigious regiments. He expressed his gratitude to the parents for their selfless decision to allow their sons to serve the nation, emphasizing the honor and privilege associated with being a part of the Indian Army.

The induction of these 624 Agniveers marks another significant milestone in the Agnipath scheme, launched by the Indian government to recruit and train young individuals for a short-term service in the armed forces.
