Acquisition of F-35 Jets by India will Threaten POK and Gilgit-Baltistan Security, Warns Pakistani Retd Major General

Retired Major General Zahid Mahmood of the Pakistani Army has voiced concerns regarding the potential acquisition of F-35 Lightning II fighter jets by India from the United States.

In a recent interview with local media, he stated that this acquisition could significantly destabilize the regional strategic balance, particularly concerning Pakistan.

Maj Gen Mahmood suggested that the introduction of the F-35 into the Indian Air Force (IAF) could embolden India to pursue more aggressive military actions, specifically targeting Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB).

He argued that the advanced capabilities of the fifth-generation fighter jet would provide India with a considerable strategic advantage, potentially leading to increased tensions along the disputed borders. The F-35's advanced technology, including its stealth capabilities, could allow for more effective operations in contested airspace.

The retired general emphasized the necessity for Pakistan to re-evaluate its current strategic and tactical doctrines in light of this potential development. He noted that the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) would need to develop strategies to counter or deter potential F-35 incursions.

This could involve improvements to Pakistan's air defence systems, enhancements in electronic warfare capabilities, or the acquisition of advanced fighter aircraft from allies such as China. Strengthening existing partnerships and exploring new avenues for military cooperation could also be a key component of Pakistan's response.

Maj Gen Mahmood further highlighted the potential threat to Pakistan's operational security. He pointed out that the F-35's stealth technology would make Pakistani airspace more susceptible to surprise attacks and intelligence-gathering missions.

This vulnerability, he argued, necessitates a comprehensive review of Pakistan's defence posture and a proactive approach to mitigating the perceived risks associated with the F-35's deployment in the region.

what happened to their pav pav kilo ke nuclear bomb... Did they lost trust in their tactical bombs.

Let’s first see if we get F35 and what all we need to buy and how much money we need to spend in order to get F35 and talk about other things later.

LOL. LMAO, even. Weren't they trying to escalate by bragging about a Chinese 5th-gen fighter acquisition? Now the 10x larger country is getting access to much better kit, and they switch to complaining?

Dear Pakistan,

You are not in our league. Your league is Afghanistan. Go sort out your problems with them. You are not worth our time. You can't even defend a cricket stadium or a shopping mall.

Why is it when the Pakistani Inter-Service Intelligence sponsors terrorist attacks on Indian assets, there are no issues, when the Pakistani military wants to place medium-range missiles in Bangladesh, there are no issues, when the Chinese give sophisticated, advanced planes to Pakistan, there are no issues, but when the United States wants to give India the F35s, the Pakistanis have a huge problem? Why is Pakistan, which is a failed state, spending money on the military instead of trying to educate its people? Pakistanis are begging for alms in the Middle East. While most people who go to the Middle East go for work, Pakistani men entering the UK groom little girls for rape, they don't contribute to the economic environment of the UK or EU, while others work or do business to contribute to the UK and EU economic needs.
