Artemon Aerospace and Munitions India Limited Join Forces to Develop Cutting-Edge Loitering Munitions

In a move to strengthen India's indigenous defence capabilities, Artemon Aerospace, a prominent Indian aerospace company, has partnered with Munitions India Limited (MIL) to develop advanced loitering munition solutions for the Indian Armed Forces. The collaboration signifies a major stride towards achieving 'Atmanirbhar Bharat', the government's ambitious vision of self-reliance in defense manufacturing.

Sushil Ghule, Director of Artemon Aerospace, expressed confidence that this partnership will yield a revolutionary loitering munition system, bolstering India's military might. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed between the two companies sets the stage for the fusion of 'legacy of reliability' with 'par excellence technology,' ensuring a world-class solution for the Indian Armed Forces.

The loitering munition, to be developed under this partnership, will add significant firepower to the nation's defence arsenal. By blending indigenous expertise with cutting-edge technology, Artemon and MIL aim to create a comprehensive solution that caters to the ever-evolving needs of the Indian military.

For Artemon, the collaboration with Munitions India Limited is a milestone, bringing the company closer to realizing its vision of reshaping the aerospace defence landscape in India. The company expressed gratitude to Sh. B.R. Anil Kumar, General Manager of MIL, for his pivotal role in finalizing the MoU.

MIL can't make a counter of it but can make a similar weapon to give Pakistan taste of their own medicine.

we need drones as cheap and capable as shahed with range of 1000+ km . Shahed drones are fitted with wooden propellers and bike engine , we need similar innovation to keep costs down

That's not a bike engine I think. Some sources call it a German engine. If it's German then it's not something simple as a bike engine.

It's also claimed to be Iranian / Chinese copy of German engine. However cheap still not as cheap as bike engine.

Finally the South African company sold same design to Israel and Iran. Doesn't make sense both users will use so different engine.

But yes we should learn cost cutting from Iran.

Yup in any case the price are too attractive and a fraction of cost to overwhelm any defence system in the world. you can get 100 Shahed drone at 20k dollars each with 2000km range against a single tomahawk cruise missile ( $2Mil).

Aren’t munitions India meant to focus on shells and bullets and other type of ammunition? Developing loiter munitions seems redundant as we already have several of the private sector who are already designing and manufacturing loiter munitions.
