Bangladesh Deploys Turkish Bayraktar TB2 Drones Near West Bengal Border For Enhanced Surveillance and Security

The Bangladesh Armed Forces have deployed Turkish-made Bayraktar TB2 unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) near the West Bengal border, a move that has garnered attention in the region due to the area's strategic sensitivity. This deployment underscores the growing importance of drone technology in modern military operations and its potential influence on regional security dynamics.

According to Defense Technology of Bangladesh (DTB), the Bangladesh Armed Forces received the first six of twelve Bayraktar TB2 drones earlier this year. Operated by the 67th Army, these UAVs are primarily intended for intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) missions, as well as light strike operations. The acquisition of these advanced drones highlights Bangladesh's efforts to modernize its defense capabilities and enhance border security.

While Bangladesh has emphasized the defensive and surveillance roles of the TB2, such deployments near the border with India inevitably draw attention from its neighbor. India closely monitors developments along its borders and may view this deployment as a signal to further enhance its own UAV capabilities.

India's Response and Regional Implications

The Indian Armed Forces have been actively procuring and developing drones for both ISR and combat missions, including high-altitude platforms like the Heron TP and combat UAVs under development as part of the Ghatak program.

This deployment by Bangladesh could potentially accelerate India's efforts to bolster its drone capabilities, particularly for border surveillance and reconnaissance. It may also lead to increased investment in counter-drone technologies to address potential threats posed by advanced UAVs operated by neighboring countries.

The introduction of advanced drone technology in the region has the potential to alter regional security dynamics. While UAVs offer significant advantages in terms of surveillance, reconnaissance, and even offensive capabilities, their deployment in sensitive border areas can also increase tensions and raise concerns about potential escalation.

The era of Bayraktar drones is over. They would get mercilessly shot down and Pakistani JF 17 would be junked soon. Good thinking Bangladesh but things have dramatically changed now.

After Russians destroyed 130 Thurkish Bayraktar TB2 drones by first Electronically jamming & then taking them out using their layered Air Defence systems, the Ukrainians have stopped using them.

think is anyone able to do these kind of things against china, usa and russia? so we should take strong actions against them.

we should have expanded chicken neck in 1971, made a huge mistake
What did India get by creating Bangladesh ???

1) should have expanded chicken neck.
2) hindu majority Bangladesh better than converts jihadists majority Bangladesh.
3) India agencies failed to make visionary decisions to create hindu Majority pro India Bangladeshi population.
4) CIA shot down brilliant scientists of India in India, while India is following liberal approach to eliminate all ISI installed mullas in Bangladesh speaking against India. Accidents/corona/ heartache/ Cancer/HIV many ways to Rest in peace all anti India Bangladeshi celebrity, politicians and mullas.

Bangladesh has the intentions and its heavily radicalised muslim population is extremely anti hindu. That's the fact and any sugar coated diplomatic statements can't change this ground reality. Now the real question is, are we ready to react? Or we will follow the same old school way of toppling the current Bangladesh govt and take credit in that. Remember, our eastern states are facing a slow but steady demographic change in favour of muslim population due to unchecked infiltration of Bangadeshis but the mainstream hindi media From Delhi is not highlighting this for some reasons.

Can we somehow take this down and burst the Turkish bubble, which used the success of Israeli drones/loitering munitions in Nagarno Karabakh war and create its own narrative.

Biggest mistake done during war against Pakistan for Bangladesh was to set condition to merge Dinajpur with India as a compensation for helping Bangladesh.

This is bound to happen. We are up against America's dollar might. Hasina was our "guy" installed & we did good while it lasted - she got overthrown with CIA's dollar power. This will happen anywhere. We are still a budding economy and we fight from a disadvantageous position.

We need to do one thing - recognize clearly US is the enemy, but lot of coconuts in our country still oblivious to this fact. Decoconutize, thats the first step. If we had this awareness we wouldnt have gotten into that GE mess & now this Uber and starlink nonsense. Then sabotage the dollar. We need to push UPI as the dollar replacement strategy. We already have Airtel money being widely used in Africa. We can push UPI to Africa,SE Asia, Middle East and Latin America. Once the dollar is gone, kick the US out of IOR completely.

The entire country knows. But without full cooperation from WB in policing and enforcing the laws and boundary then it’s hard to stop it as you can’t man the entire very long border. On top of that millions of illegal Muslim immigrants have been illegally registered as Indian citizens and receiving welfare support and money. Without documents to prove that they came from Bangladesh then it’s hard to deport them and courts require evidence to act and that takes a long time to.

India should have never given back Bangladesh to them. WHY??? Utter delusional that a country wins a war and the land but then returns it back to those people. We should have ruled it once and for all.

Feeding the snakes is never a wise decision. Instead of helping our hostile neighbours we should make sure we make their lives as difficult as we can. We have tried the carrot which haven't work...now unleash the stick.
