Manila, Philippines – Indian defence company Bharat Dynamics Limited (BDL) made a significant impact at the Asia Defense and Security 2024 (ADAS2024) exhibition held in Manila. The company showcased its impressive array of missile systems, with the Amogha-III Anti-Tank Guided Missile (ATGM) taking center stage.

The Amogha-III, a product of BDL's Research and Development Division, is a cutting-edge fire-and-forget missile equipped with a dual-mode infrared seeker. This advanced technology allows the missile to lock onto targets with exceptional accuracy and engage them autonomously, without needing further guidance after launch. With an operational range of 200 to 2500 meters, the Amogha-III provides considerable standoff capability for ground forces.

What sets this ATGM apart is its formidable tandem warhead, designed to overcome the protective measures of modern armored vehicles. The warhead is capable of penetrating over 650 mm of armor, even after encountering Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA), making it a serious threat to main battle tanks and other heavily armored targets.

BDL highlights the Amogha-III's lock-on-before-launch (LOBL) capability as a key tactical advantage. This feature enables operators to acquire and lock onto a target before firing, ensuring precision strikes and minimizing the risk of exposure to enemy forces.

While drawing comparisons to the renowned Raytheon Javelin missile, the Amogha-III distinguishes itself with its larger dimensions and potentially enhanced firepower.

This indigenous Indian ATGM signifies a major advancement in the country's defence capabilities and is expected to attract considerable interest from international military delegations attending ADAS2024.

Has IA tested & cleared them for induction? If not, why is BDL wanting to export?
Because BDL is not left with any new projects to do. All of its work which it was doing after getting technology from DRDO are being done by Adani defence. This quarter, it will make loss. To keep itself profitable, it is trying to get orders from export costumers. That is why it is in foreign countries showing its missiles.

Very sad indeed - it's said 'where it grows, it doesn't sell'!

Most important is anti ship missiles. Our ocean and same theirs need too many anti ship missiles and swarm autonomous water drones. War will be played in sea and not land. If we consider Philippines atleast 1000 ships in one time will be attacking and they don't have shield to defend. Even small anti ship like ATGM can shoot their small boats also can help petrol boats to attack.

Not bad If they can put LOAL, 3rd party target allocation and 5kms target at least, it will be superb.

This is a brilliant missile and we need it to have the high penetration capability that can destroy tanks in the first shot. We should also look at increasing its warhead size and changing the type of explosives used to increase the penetration power and damage even more. We will also develop a shoulder launched ATGM which can take out tanks and armoured vehicles.

Where is amogha I and II. It's similar to the case of UAV, where names have been changed from Mk I to.Mk 3, but not a single ready for induction . Pvt sectors Re producing better cutting edge tech. DRDO is becoming a white elephant.

Last quarter, BDL only made 8 crs profit . Adani is not doing anything new, instead eating into the shares of already established businesses by getting lucrative deals.
Don't cry. BDL should learn professionalism and competent. BDL has much large resources than adani.
