BSF Prepares First Woman Sniper, Marks Progress in Gender Equality

The Border Security Force (BSF) has made history with the training of its first-ever female sniper. Suman Kumari, a sub-inspector posted in the BSF's Punjab unit, successfully completed an intensive eight-week sniper training course at the Central Armament and Combat Skills School of BSF in Indore.

Kumari distinguished herself as the sole woman among 57 male participants in the rigorous program. The BSF proudly announced this achievement on its official social media account. Snipers are critical assets in counter-terrorism and special operations, trained to eliminate targets with extreme precision.

The training Kumari received involved mastering the SSG (Sharp Shooter Gun) and other firearms, ensuring pinpoint accuracy over long distances. Additionally, snipers undergo specialized instruction in camouflage and covert tactics for challenging scenarios.

Conclusion

The introduction of the BSF's first female sniper showcases a significant step forward for gender representation within this vital security force.

Suman Kumari's accomplishment is sure to inspire other women seeking to serve in specialized combat roles.

It is like India bragging about first 2G service when other parts of the world is already using 5G. Good for her, but unnecessary to brag as it shows how outdated we are!

its not good, its very bad to unduct w0 men in armed forces

That cameo makes the sniper a standing target in the back ground. India needs to do better in selecting the cameo for it's snipers and sp-ops soldiers.

Obsession with gender in armed forces need to stop. Should be recruited only on merit.

Snipers are part of the elite in armed forces and honestly this should be based on skill. Kudos to the girl and hopefully we might have a bunch of snipers who can be counted in the top ten .

It doesn’t matter if it’s a girl or a boy. What’s important is that they are consistent and accurate in their firing. They should shoot anyone even approaching our fence as by then they have cross into Indian territory. We built our fence a few KM from the actual boundary line so we are well within our rights to shoot them. We also shouldn’t fall for the same excuse and that they are innocent villagers who got lost, looking for their missing animal, looking for water etc. All of them are informants to test our defence along the border and our capabilities. We should give a bullet as our answer!
