Kashin class guided missile destroyer INS Ranvijay joined the Indian Navy on 21st December 1987. The Navy became stronger with the commissioning of INS Ranvijay. India’s pride INS Rannvijay completed 37 years today in 2024. Built at the Poti shipyard in the Soviet Union, INS Ranvijay has stood as a symbol of strength and readiness for over 37 years. ‘Sangrame Vaibhavasya’ (Glorious in War) is the motto of INS Ranvijay. INS Ranvijay reflects the promise of excellence in combat.
The 5,000-tonne INS Ranvijay is a powerful warship with exceptional firepower and speed. It plays an important role in the strategy of the Indian Navy to maintain control over the seas. The ship is equipped with powerful surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles, which enable it to defend the country against various threats from sea and air.
