DRDO & Adani's 1000kg Gaurav Glide Bomb Gears Up for Limited Serial Production

India's defence capabilities have received a significant boost with the successful trials of the 1000 Kg Gaurav Glide Bomb, jointly developed by the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Adani Defence.

This achievement has paved the way for limited serial production of this potent weapon system, marking a milestone in India's journey toward self-reliance in defence technology.

The Gaurav glide bomb demonstrated its impressive range and accuracy during tests, precisely striking a target situated over 100 kilometers away. Its remarkable range enables Indian Air Force (IAF) fighter jets to engage targets deep within enemy territory while maintaining a safe distance from air defence systems.

Equipped with an advanced inertial navigation system and digital control, the Gaurav LRGB ensures pinpoint accuracy, minimizing collateral damage and making it ideal for operations in sensitive areas. The bomb's ability to penetrate hardened structures further amplifies its effectiveness against fortified targets.

Designed to be compatible with various IAF fighter jets, including the Su-30MKI, the Gaurav LRGB seamlessly integrates with existing squadrons. Its flexibility to carry a conventional warhead allows for targeting a wide range of enemy assets, enhancing the IAF's operational capabilities.

This combination of extended range, precision targeting, and versatility will enable the IAF to conduct a broader range of missions with increased effectiveness and reduced risks to its own forces. This will significantly bolster India's deterrence posture and provide a decisive edge in any future conflict.

Hope that it quickly gets inducted and mass production starts. We need thousands of them in storage in order to be prepared for war. At least 5000.

This is a highly successful device in Ukraine war. Technologically easier to produce. Militarily highly effective. It should be developed a lot further.

Brilliant... Brilliant...
All pak air defense and ammo depot are gone...
Thank God my one wish came True...

Now remaining wishes...
1) ATACMS tactical ballistic missile
2 ) Zala saurvailence drones
3) Lancet loitering drones
4 ) Magura Boat drones, and submarine drones
5 ) CIWS type anti drone system, laser, DE anti drone system..

pakistan has a variety of similar glide bombs from china integrated on the jf-17. The FT -2 series and the LS-6 series, they have acquired them a long time ago. we have just started.

1) Pralay, not more expensive than ATACMS, almost as mobile.
2) Many such and better drones.
3) Also present, but most are smaller. Tech is there, scale is for IA to decide.
4) Surface drone present, submarine drone no idea.
5) Shilka, Sudarshan, Insas group, shotgun used. Handheld EW present (limited). Laser is your fantasy.

Adani's should make US tech based heavy NATO standard bombs !Since we are using Ak-203 and SIg716 both we should replicate this formula by making GUB series and FAB series of Heavy bombs both !

These precision guidance armaments will surely make a difference in Indian defense and offense postures.
Way to go!!!

That is beuty of privte sector, they finish product fast and do mass production fast.
That's one reason I thought the Tata assembled F21 had potential. At least we wouldn't be relying on HAL for our defence entirely.

We should have lots of cheap glide bombs and lots of cheap drones. Worst case they can empty interceptor batteries while a heavier hitter like BrahMos comes in. Best case take out a radar or battery.

Pakistan using Chinese glide bombs is better for us because they are unreliable, very inaccurate and have defects. After the balakot attacks they tried to counter attack and launched their glide bombs to blow up the army’s headquarters in Srinagar. They missed by miles and they didn’t even explode so that’s the reality of Pakistan and Chinese jets and weapons.

India needs these large 1000kg bombs as until now we mostly relied on 500kg bombs only. This bomb has been 100% indigenously designed, developed and manufactured in India which cuts down on foreign expensive imports. This is a much more accurate bomb where target coordinates are entered into the bomb and using the NavIC/ GPS will automatically control the bomb to the target.
