EDITH Defence Systems Debuts ThirdEye: Helmet Camera for Enhanced Battlefield Vision

In a significant advancement for battlefield technology, Indian defence startup EDITH Defence Systems has unveiled the ThirdEye, a helmet-mounted tactical wireless camera designed to dramatically improve situational awareness for soldiers.

The ThirdEye system offers real-time benefits for both soldiers and their commanders. The camera, mounted directly onto a soldier's helmet, captures real-time video footage of their immediate surroundings. This footage is then wirelessly transmitted to a designated command center, providing commanders with an unprecedented first-person perspective of active combat zones.

This groundbreaking visual access allows commanders to make more informed, strategic decisions, and offer enhanced support to their troops on the ground. Improved situational awareness through the ThirdEye system has the potential to enhance troop coordination, speed up response times to emerging threats, and promote greater overall soldier safety.

EDITH Defence Systems emphasizes the ThirdEye's operational stamina, claiming it can function for up to 6 hours on a single charge. This extended operational time ensures soldiers can rely on continuous visual support throughout the duration of their missions. The camera also offers adaptable mounting, allowing soldiers to position it on either the top or side of their helmet for optimal utility based on their preference and tactical needs.

The ThirdEye represents a potential leap forward in battlefield technology. By granting commanders near-instant visual access to what their soldiers experience on the front lines, it could reshape how decisions are made and missions are carried out.

Can't blame them when indian army don't want to buy any indigenous product then goes for foreign maal. Just look at atags and Athos.

1st give them night/thermal vision
every US soldier is equipped with night vision goggles

Hopefully , after they are hit they would know, but not before.
there is no way, that a helmet mounted camera could be remotely hacked to give away the locatioin of a troop. Many reasons for it-
  1. even if they hacked it, and they were getting the video feed, camera does not have a GPS to give its location
  2. on the battlefield, these devices use encryption. Of course if some people communicate using mobile phones etc then it can be intercepted.
  3. There is a very big lag, between intercepting a signal, making sense of it, deciding a response and then implementing it. That is why the most significant signals that are intercepted are those regarding battle plans- when an attack might happen, where, how many troops etc. Because this allows the enemy to plan a response and be prepared. But if it a video feed from a camera when the enmy is on ground, then even if it gets intercepted, it is useless, because enemy has little to no time to respond.
