Top commanders of the Indian Air Force (IAF) have convened in Delhi for their biannual conference, the first since the recent disengagement of troops with China in the Demchok and Depsang areas of eastern Ladakh.
Despite the easing of tensions, sources have revealed that there will be no immediate changes to the IAF's current deployment along the Line of Actual Control (LAC).
The conference, which began on Sunday and will continue until Wednesday, November 20, is a crucial platform for the IAF to assess its operational readiness and address the ongoing security challenges along the northern borders. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is scheduled to address the conference today.
Key topics of discussion include enhancing integration within the armed forces to improve interoperability and coordination, and formulating winter operational strategies to maintain vigilance and preparedness during the harsh weather conditions.
Sources have confirmed that the conference will also delve into the IAF's modernization plans, crucial for bolstering its capabilities in the face of evolving regional threats.
The IAF's decision to maintain its current deployment along the LAC, even after the recent disengagement with China, underscores India's commitment to safeguarding its borders. This strategic move emphasizes the continued importance of operational readiness in the region.
The commanders' meeting will also focus on future challenges and the evolving role of the IAF in India's defence strategy. This proactive approach ensures that the IAF remains prepared to address any potential threats and safeguard national security.
