India-Made Ammo Again Found in Ukrainian Military Possession

More images emerging from the Ukraine warzone indicate that Ukrainian forces are using Indian-manufactured ERFB-BT 155mm artillery shells. This reignites the debate about India's indirect supply of military equipment to Ukraine, despite the country's official stance of neutrality in the conflict.

Recent months have seen a surge in demand for ERFB-BT 155mm shells produced by India's Defence Public Sector Undertakings (DPSUs) and private companies. Orders topping ₹2,000 crores are understood to have been placed, with countries in the Middle East and the United States as primary buyers.

India has publicly maintained neutrality in the Russia-Ukraine war and has not supplied weapons directly to either warring nation. However, this latest evidence suggests an indirect supply chain exists, likely with nations purchasing Indian-made shells subsequently transferring them to Ukraine.

The Indian shells are highly sought-after due to their compatibility with NATO-standard artillery systems recently sent to Ukraine. This makes them a crucial asset in the ongoing conflict.

India did not sell it to Ukraine. Other countries are transferring this inventory to Ukraine. Nothing India can do.

It's most probably 3rd party sales of previously sold stocks from some Middle East country. Countries like UAE, Jordan and Saudi Arabia afterall have a history of redirecting and reselling previously procured weapon stocks from other countries.

Ensure that when we export, shells have a stamping mentioning recipient country name. Also, do an agreement while selling mentioning- it is for self defence and not for use in other countries and further exports.

Just sell it to whoever is buying, except china, pakis, ukraine and russia. 3rd party can do whatever it wants with it. Very difficult to control re-export.

In future, indian companies should not use yellow paint for shells designated for export. In fact remove all markings. So it becomes difficult to distinguish Indian shells from pictures or videos.

Then less people will buy it. We will be hurting our exports. Just look at how low swiss defence sxports have fallen after they refused to give permission to germany to re-export 35mm rounds for its gepard system.

The muscovites must pay for their increased closeness to Pakistan and putin not attending the g20 in india.

Har peeli top-ka-gola bharatiya nahi hoti. Made-in-India Tthappa kahan hai❓

All MIL munition have distinct postition for its red band mark.

Unfortunately it would be difficult to enforce an end use monitoring arrangement for something as basic as ammunition rounds.

Folks,
When warlike equipment is sold, there is an end user certificate given by the recipient government.
Obviously someone is violating the agreement.

If India would have done this, US embargo would have been round the corner. India should ban export of 105 mm and 155 mm shells. We don't want blood money
