Despite India's declared neutrality in the ongoing Ukraine conflict, new reports indicate that Indian-manufactured artillery may indirectly be aiding Ukrainian forces. Military sources suggest that 155mm artillery shells and propellant charges originating from India could be reaching Ukraine via Slovenia.
According to these sources, Slovenia may have placed orders with Indian defence companies before facilitating the transfer of ammunition to Ukraine. This development comes amid a surge in demand for ERFB-BT 155mm shells from Indian manufacturers, public and private alike. Recent orders reportedly exceed ₹2,000 crores, primarily from Middle Eastern and US buyers.
Though Slovenia's suspected role as a conduit for Ukrainian ammunition remains unconfirmed, the path by which these shells reach Ukraine is still uncertain.
