In a move to enhance its operational capabilities, the Indian Navy launched the seventh 'Ammunition Cum Torpedo Cum Missile Barge' (ACTCM), LSAM 21 (Yard 131) on September 5th, 2024. The launch ceremony, held at the Suryadipta Project Pvt Ltd facility in Thane, was presided over by Commodore VA Giriprasad.

This barge is part of an 11-barge project contracted to Suryadipta Projects Pvt Ltd in March 2021 under the 'Make in India' initiative. These barges are designed to streamline the transportation, embarkation, and disembarkation of ammunition and other critical supplies to Indian Navy ships, both at jetties and in open waters.

The ACTCM barges, a testament to indigenous design and manufacturing prowess, were developed in compliance with Naval Rules and Regulations of the Indian Register of Shipping. The barge design underwent rigorous model testing at the Naval Science and Technological Laboratory in Visakhapatnam, further highlighting the commitment to quality and safety.

This latest addition to the Navy's fleet is expected to significantly bolster its logistical operations, enabling faster and more efficient replenishment of warships at sea and enhancing the overall operational readiness of the Indian Navy.
