INS Shivalik, a prominent vessel of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet, has returned to its home port after a successful operational deployment in the strategically important South China Sea and Pacific Ocean regions.

This deployment underscored India's commitment to its 'Act East Policy', 'SAGAR' (Security and Growth for All in the Region) vision, and its active role in the Indo-Pacific Oceans initiative.

During its voyage, INS Shivalik participated in two major international maritime exercises. It took part in the bilateral JIMEX 24 exercise with Japan at Yokosuka, and in the world's largest naval exercise, RIMPAC, held in Hawaii, USA. Notably, INS Shivalik's precision in delivering ordnance on target earned it the prestigious "RODEO Trophy" at RIMPAC-2024.

The ship also made goodwill port calls at Guam and Surabaya, Indonesia, further strengthening ties with partner nations.

This extensive deployment highlights India's dedication to maintaining a free, open, and inclusive Indo-Pacific region and its commitment to promoting peace and security in the area. It also showcased the Indian Navy's capability to operate effectively at extended ranges.

Earlier this year, INS Shivalik also contributed to anti-piracy efforts in the Gulf of Aden and Central Arabian Sea.

This successful deployment serves as a testament to the Indian Navy's growing operational reach and its commitment to regional stability and maritime security.
