Kalyani Strategic Systems Limited (KSSL), a subsidiary of Bharat Forge Ltd, is set to establish a massive defence manufacturing facility in Andhra Pradesh. The state government has approved the allocation of 1,000 acres of land to KSSL for this ambitious project, which entails a ₹2,400 crore investment.
This move is expected to significantly boost India's defence manufacturing capabilities and reinforce Andhra Pradesh's position as a burgeoning hub for defence and aerospace industries.
The facility, located in Murranahalli, Madakasira, will focus on the production of gun propellants and the development of an ammunition filling complex. This strategic location, close to Bengaluru, is expected to foster a thriving defence manufacturing ecosystem.
The project will be implemented in two phases, with the Andhra Pradesh government offering various incentives, including subsidized power, water, and essential infrastructure, along with applicable tax benefits.
