In a major boost to India's indigenous defense capabilities, leading tyre manufacturer MRF has unveiled its cutting-edge 'Aero-Muscle' tyres, specifically designed for the upcoming Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas Mk2.

The new tyres were showcased during the recent 'Tarang Shakti' exercise at Sulur Airbase, highlighting their readiness to support the next generation of Indian fighter jets. The LCA Tejas Mk2 represents a significant upgrade from its predecessor, with increased size and power, necessitating tyres that can handle the enhanced performance demands.

MRF's 'Aero-Muscle' tyres, measuring 27.5 X 7.5-16, are not only larger than the tyres used in the LCA Mk1 but are also exceptionally robust. They are engineered to withstand the heightened speeds, loads, and demanding operational conditions of the LCA Mk2, ensuring optimal performance during various flight maneuvers.

This latest innovation builds upon MRF's ongoing expansion into the military-grade tyre market. The company has already developed tyres for various aircraft, including the Tejas Mk-1A and several helicopters, contributing to the indigenization of military supplies and reducing reliance on foreign manufacturers.

MRF's commitment to quality is evident in its rigorous testing and validation processes. The 'Aero-Muscle' tyres, like other military-grade tyres developed by the company, have undergone extensive testing at 1.5 times the load requirement, ensuring their ability to withstand the most challenging conditions.

As the LCA Tejas Mk2 progresses towards full operational deployment, MRF's 'Aero-Muscle' tyres are poised to play a vital role in ensuring the aircraft's success, further solidifying MRF's position as a leading provider of high-performance tyres for the Indian military.
