The international spotlight will shine on Mumbai as it prepares to host the 5th MET & 15th HTS exhibition and conference from September 6-8, 2024.

Organized by TAFCON in collaboration with ASM International India Chapter, this biennial event will bring together participants from over 20 countries to delve into the latest advancements in Material Engineering, Equipment, and Technology (MET) for Defence and Transport, as well as Alternate Energy and Heat Treatment Synergies (HTS).

The three-day event, taking place at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Goregaon, will feature a comprehensive platform showcasing over 400 stalls, a dedicated Start-Up Pavilion, and a German Pavilion by VDMA. The event anticipates over 20,000 attendees, including government officials, PSUs, industry experts, leading corporates, SMEs, and start-ups, as well as various industry associations from India and overseas.

A highlight of MET & HTS 2024 will be a high-level conference where distinguished speakers from industry, academia, and research will address topics such as advanced and smart materials, heat treat technologies, and the "Make in India" initiative. Over 150 technical papers are expected to be presented, covering a broad spectrum of topics related to materials science, engineering, and technology.

The event holds particular significance in light of the burgeoning Indian defence sector, which has witnessed exports to over 75 countries and a remarkable 20% increase in defence spending in recent years. The transportation and logistics sectors are also poised for growth, aligning with the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP) projects.

MET & HTS 2024 aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among stakeholders, facilitating the showcase of cutting-edge innovations and technologies that will drive progress in the defence, transport, and energy sectors. Several government organizations, including DRDO, CSIR, Indian Railways, NMDC, and Defence PSUs, along with major corporates such as Tatas, Mahindra & Mahindra, Larsen & Toubro, JSW, Reliance Industries, Hindalco, Bharat Forge, and Suzlon Energy, are expected to participate.
