Royal Enfield Himalayan Featured in Argentine Army Exercises

BUENOS AIRES, Argentina (March 22, 2024) – The Argentine Army recently conducted specialized training exercises in the challenging terrain of Patagonia, utilizing a unique tool in their arsenal: Royal Enfield Himalayan motorcycles.

The 24th Mechanized Infantry Regiment honed motorcycle combat skills, with photos revealing the potential for integrating these motorcycles into diverse combat situations, including the use of anti-tank weaponry.

Royal Enfield's Growing Footprint in Argentina

The exercises coincide with a significant development for Royal Enfield. The Indian motorcycle manufacturer, known for its popular middleweight bikes, has announced a partnership with its Argentinian distributor, Grupo Simpa, to establish a local assembly plant.

This historic move marks the first time Royal Enfield will assemble motorcycles outside of India, highlighting Argentina's importance as a key Latin American market.

Himalayan: The Motorcycle of Choice

The Royal Enfield Himalayan, featured prominently in the army drills, is a rugged adventure motorcycle powered by a 411cc air/oil-cooled engine delivering 24.3 bhp and 32 Nm of torque.

Designed for both on-road and off-road capabilities, the Himalayan comes equipped with a 15-liter fuel tank, weighs 199 kg, and includes safety features like disc brakes on both wheels and standard dual-channel ABS.

A Strategic Partnership

Royal Enfield's presence in Argentina began in 2018 and has grown rapidly. Currently, the company boasts five flagship dealerships in the country and a wider network of over 40 dealerships across Latin America.

The new assembly plant solidifies the strategic partnership with Argentina and underscores Royal Enfield's dedication to expanding its reach within this important market.

ATV makes more sense to me for military purposes in rugged terrain since it is more stable and safer. Indian army also uses ATV in ladakh, arunachal and rajasthan. Maybe royal enfield should look into making ATVs, I dont think there is an indian company making ATVs.
Army only uses bikes for stunts in republic day lol.
