Following a recent surge in terrorist activities in the Jammu region, particularly the Doda attack resulting in the martyrdom of an Army officer and three personnel, security forces are significantly increasing their presence in the hilly areas of Doda, Poonch, and Rajouri districts.
Strategic Deployment to Counter Terrorism
High-level sources reveal that this move involves a substantial deployment of troops, vehicles, and weaponry across over 50 strategically identified locations within these districts.This multi-force approach aims to establish a well-coordinated security grid, tightening control over the terrain and effectively addressing the evolving nature of terrorist threats.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police will lead and coordinate these efforts, with the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) contributing the largest number of ground troops.
The deployment will also include the Rashtriya Rifles (RR) and, in border areas, the Border Security Force (BSF). The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) may also be involved, leveraging their expertise in mountainous regions.

Additionally, the CRPF is testing advanced UAVs that leverage artificial intelligence to minimize human intervention, conduct surveillance and reconnaissance, and execute operations autonomously.
