Southern Army Commander Inspects NDA, Emphasizes Rigorous Training and Relives Cadet Days

Khadakwasla, Pune - Lieutenant General Dhiraj Seth, AVSM, Army Commander, Southern Command, recently visited the National Defence Academy (NDA) in Khadakwasla.

During his visit, he toured key areas of the institution, including the training areas, cadets' mess, Sudan Block, and Santosh Gupta Hall. Lt Gen Seth observed the rigorous training and discipline that are hallmarks of the NDA cadet experience.

The visit was particularly meaningful for Lt Gen Seth, as he is an alumnus of the NDA. He took the opportunity to revisit Foxtrot Squadron, where he was once a cadet himself.

The Army Commander shared his memories and experiences with current cadets, emphasizing the importance of their training and the formative role the NDA plays in shaping future military leaders.

Lt Gen Seth assumed command of the Southern Army on July 1, 2024. He is a highly decorated officer with a distinguished career spanning several decades.
He has held various command and staff appointments, including command of the 98 Armoured Brigade, Counter Insurgency Uniform Force, and 21 Corps. He has also served as an instructor at the NDA and the School of Armoured Warfare.

This visit highlights the importance of the NDA in producing the next generation of officers for the Indian Armed Forces. Lt Gen Seth's personal connection to the academy serves as an inspiration to the cadets and reinforces the enduring legacy of the NDA in shaping India's military leadership.
