Tejas Mk1A takes flight with Upgraded indigenous Digital Fly-by-Wire System!

In a major boost to India’s self-reliance in defense technology, the Tejas Mk1A fighter jet successfully completed its maiden flight with an indigenously developed Digital Fly-by-Wire Flight Control Computer (DFCC) on February 19th. This marks a significant milestone in the development of the advanced fighter, paving the way for its deployment with the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Developed by the Aeronautical Development Establishment (ADE) in Bengaluru, the DFCC is the heart of the Tejas Mk1A’s flight control system. It features advanced technology like a Quadraplex Power PC processor, high-speed I/O controller, and complex onboard software, ensuring precise and reliable maneuverability. This maiden flight successfully tested all critical parameters and performance of the system, confirming its readiness for further integration and testing.

The Tejas Mk1A builds upon the success of the Tejas Mk1, already operational with the IAF. This upgraded version boasts an array of enhancements, including an advanced mission computer, Smart Multi-Function Displays, and a powerful AESA radar. These advancements significantly improve the aircraft’s situational awareness, targeting capabilities, and overall combat effectiveness.

This successful flight test signifies a crucial step towards India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant) initiative in the defense sector. The indigenous development of the DFCC reduces dependence on foreign imports and strengthens India’s strategic autonomy.

The successful integration and testing of the DFCC paves the way for further flight tests and development activities. With continued collaboration between DRDO, IAF, ADA, and industry partners, the Tejas Mk1A is expected to be delivered to the IAF within the stipulated timeframe, further bolstering India’s airpower capabilities.

The Tejas just got more safer then ever.
Basically it's quadruplex fly by wire system got upgraded.

Still, why is that R 73E there!? Where is the primary config.of dual pylon ASRAAMs!?

Great FCR computer system, and also one of the best flight control systems.
Indian citizens must be proud of the fact that none of the Tejas Is crashed so far and it attests to the quality of work.

Does India has any companies manufacturing Power PC CPUs through license or are we importing them?

India must tie up with the best Power PC manufacturer to get its own plant to manufacture them in India.
It is always good idea to be safe sided than sorry during real wars.

Way to go!!!
