In a move to bolster indigenous production and accelerate the delivery of combat aircraft to the Indian Air Force and Indian Navy, the Aeronautical Development Agency (ADA) has invited Indian private companies to participate in the manufacturing of critical structural assemblies.

This initiative is part of a broader effort to leverage the capabilities of the private sector in coordination with public sector firms to enhance India's defence capabilities.

The Expression of Interest (EOI) issued by ADA encompasses the manufacture of structural assemblies, either in part or in full, for various aircraft programs, including the LCA AF Mk2, Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA), and Twin Engine Deck-Based Fighter (TEDBF).

These assemblies, which include the front fuselage, center fuselage, rear fuselage, wings, vertical tails, canards, and horizontal tails, are integral to the structural integrity and performance of the aircraft.

By outsourcing the production of these assemblies to capable Indian private companies, ADA aims to speed up production, improve efficiency, and ensure a more scalable manufacturing process.

The selected firms will also be responsible for developing structural test specimens and test boxes to validate the durability and performance of the components.

This initiative presents a significant opportunity for Indian private firms to contribute to the nation's defence production in a meaningful way. It also reflects the government's commitment to fostering a vibrant and self-reliant defence industrial base.

Interested Indian private companies with the requisite manufacturing facilities and expertise are encouraged to respond to the EOI.

This partnership will further integrate the private sector into India's defence ecosystem, particularly in the production of sophisticated combat aircraft, thereby contributing to the nation's strategic autonomy and self-reliance.

Nice move to Fast track production Rate of Fighter jets, This is what it was lacking Tejas MK1A is stepping stone it is First project of Integration unlike till now it was assembled by CKD .Once Eco-system is developed not only contribute toTimely delivery for domestic needs but for export front too

I have been consistently writing about pulling in private companies into fighter production for a long time as I was very doubtful of any change coming in HAL through its own re-invention.

Slow and steadily India should pull in more private players for many subsystems so eventually India can achieve a great aerospace engineering environment.

Way to go!!!

This is an important step to encourage more private sector participation in manufacturing key parts, components and technology. It’s unclear how they will implement this policy and what the rules will be but we need more private sector companies investing in manufacturing jets or planes.

The best option is to get HAL and ADA to issue a license to private companies who can manufacture most of the jet and technology while HAL can manufacture any critical or classified equipment and technology.
