Displaying exceptional leadership and operational expertise, Air Marshal P.M. Sinha, Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief (AOC-in-C) of Western Air Command (WAC), flew a Dassault Rafale fighter jet on a combat mission at one of India's forward airbases on February 26, 2024.
The sortie fulfilled two purposes; it was flown in an operational profile through dusk and culminated at night. In addition to evaluating the airbase's combat readiness, Air Marshal Sinha spoke with pilots directly to obtain a personal understanding of their morale and operational environment.
With this mission, the AOC-in-C has demonstrated the IAF's dedication to operational readiness at all times and in all levels of leadership. Air Marshal Sinha's own experience in a simulated combat scenario gives him significant insight as he leads the WAC in defending India's airspace.
