Armenia Seeks Strategic Partnership with India, Eyes Deeper Defense Ties

Armenia is actively pursuing closer ties with India, aiming to elevate their relationship to a strategic partnership, according to an exclusive interview with Armenia’s Labor Minister Narek Mkrtchyan in Mint. “I think our relations are mature enough to be defined as a strategic partnership,” Mkrtchyan stated, expressing his hope for discussions on this matter between the foreign ministers of both countries.

Furthermore, Armenia seeks to strengthen its defense cooperation with India. Mkrtchyan acknowledged existing collaboration in this domain and emphasized the desire to “make our cooperation much deeper.” This statement hints at potential future defense deals between the two nations.

This development signifies Armenia’s growing strategic interests in the region and its potential alignment with India’s expanding influence. The possibility of a strategic partnership and deeper defense ties, if realized, could have significant geopolitical implications for both countries.

Armenia must have already realized the value of armaments they got so far.
Very good strategy and a win-win one too.

Armenia is to India what Israel is to US or Pakistan is to China. Time to prop and arm Armenia up to the hilt.

Better India must seek station for 2 sqn of Air force and i regiment of Army as external security provider for Armenia.

India should definitely pursue a stronger and closer ties with them as we can export more of our goods to them if we link the Chabhar port with the INSTC which can connect Russia and east Europe to it. This will cut down on transport time and costs so India should definitely do whatever it can to pursue this project.
