Bangladesh Army Establishes Helplines for Hindu Community Amidst Rising Attacks

The Bangladesh Army has proactively responded to recent incidents of vandalism targeting Hindu temples and cultural centers by establishing dedicated helpline numbers for the Hindu community.

This initiative aims to provide essential support and reassurance to Hindu families, temples, and other places of worship across the nation in the face of growing anxieties.

Recent Attacks Raise Concerns​

Recent events, including the ransacking of the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre in Dhaka and minor damages to at least four Hindu temples, have heightened concerns within the Hindu community.

Kajol Debnath, a representative of the Hindu Buddhist Christian Unity Council, confirmed these incidents and expressed the community's escalating fear in light of the ongoing tensions.

The vandalism extended beyond the Indira Gandhi Cultural Centre, affecting several prominent locations in Dhaka. Protesters reportedly set fires at the historic Bangabandhu Memorial Museum and other key sites.
