New Delhi – Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a leading Indian defence public sector undertaking (PSU), signed a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Russia's Rosoboronexport and MSK Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. to bolster India's indigenous ammunition manufacturing capabilities.

The agreement aims to license the production and supply of various types of ammunition, including 30 mm ammunition (HEI & HET), 40 mm ammunition (VOG-25), and 30 mm grenade ammunition (VOG-30 D), aligning with the Indian government's 'Make in India' and 'Atmanirbhar Bharat' initiatives to enhance self-reliance and domestic production.

This collaboration leverages the complementary strengths and capabilities of BEL, a renowned electronics and defence systems manufacturer, and Rosoboronexport, Russia's state-owned defence export entity. MSK Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd. is expected to play a crucial role in facilitating this partnership.

By indigenizing the production of these critical munitions, the Indian Armed Forces aim to reduce their dependence on foreign imports and enhance their operational readiness. This move is expected to strengthen India's defence industrial base and contribute to its overall self-reliance in critical defence sectors.

The MoU was signed by K V Suresh Kumar, Director (Marketing) of BEL, and Viacheslav V Kozlov, Deputy Director General of Rosoboronexport, in the presence of Anuj Gupta, Chairman and Managing Director of MSK Business Solutions Pvt. Ltd., and other senior officials from BEL.

The licensed production of ammunition is expected to provide a boost to the Indian economy, create employment opportunities, and enhance the country's defence capabilities.
