CAE Defense & Security USA has been awarded a $57 million contract by the United States Navy to provide training devices and support for the Indian Navy's MH-60R Seahawk helicopter pilots and mission crew. The contract is part of a U.S. Foreign Military Sales (FMS) program.

CAE will develop and deliver two training devices: an MH-60R Tactical Operational Flight Trainer (TOFT) and an Avionics Maintenance and Weapons Load Trainer (AMWLT), configured specifically for the Indian Navy.

The devices will include hardware, courseware, network components, training, and documentation for the MH-60 platform. Device support will also include upgrades with unique modifications, such as an identification friend or foe (IFF) interrogator, IFF transponder, traffic collision avoidance system, anti-ship missile, and depth charge.

Merrill Stoddard, division president of CAE Defense & Security, USA, expressed the company's pride in supporting the U.S. Navy and the Indian Navy with these advanced training solutions. He highlighted CAE's extensive experience as a platform-independent training and simulation provider, emphasizing their ability to develop and enhance solutions that improve mission readiness.

The MH-60R TOFT offers a comprehensive aircrew mission training system, integrating a full-motion operational flight trainer (OFT) for pilot training with a weapons tactics trainer (WTT) for rear-crew sensor operators and airborne tactics officers. This integrated approach will ensure that the Indian Navy's MH-60R crews are fully prepared for the complexities of their missions.
