China-Pakistan Developing Enlarged Version of JF-17 to Field Against India's Tejas MkII

The Pakistan Air Force (PAF) is reportedly working with Chinese partners to develop a significantly upgraded version of its JF-17 fighter jet, known as the JF-17 PFX. Recent reports suggest this new variant could be significantly larger than the current JF-17, with a Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) potentially comparable to India's Tejas MkII program, which is estimated at around 17.5 tons.

This increase in size and weight would position the JF-17 PFX in a different weight class compared to the current JF-17 and the Tejas Mk1A, both of which have MTOWs around 13,500 kg. The Tejas MkII represents a significant step up in capabilities from its predecessor, and it's speculated that the JF-17 PFX might follow a similar trajectory.

While the PAF has yet to officially confirm the details of the JF-17 PFX program, this development signals its commitment to the continued evolution of the JF-17 platform. If the project delivers on the speculated capabilities, it could mark a new era for the JF-17, potentially placing it on par with other advanced fighter jets in the region and allowing Pakistan to counter India's upcoming Tejas MkII.

However, the true nature of the JF-17 PFX remains shrouded in secrecy. Official details are pending, leaving many questions unanswered. Will the JF-17 PFX truly mirror the Tejas MkII's growth, or will it chart its own course? What specific capabilities and technologies will it incorporate? How will this new variant impact the balance of airpower in the region?

These questions remain unanswered for now, but the JF-17 PFX program undoubtedly represents a significant development in the ongoing evolution of Pakistani airpower. The world will be watching closely as more details emerge about this ambitious project.

No, orders no delay. Stop degaming Indian military. It is hack like give wrong impresion by distorting facts.
So the 3 mk1a scheduled for Feb 2024 have been delivered to IAF? Let’s see who is spreading lies here.

Jf17 is junk fighter at best. Already Nigeria has said, that they won't purchase further junks.
The US does not have any interest in JF-17 but it is a big concern for the US. As we all know that JF-17 is a fairly cheap fighter with top of the line features. This aircraft pulls the interest of multiple countries which are currently forced to buy older American fighters. Iraq is one of the example of such countries. After Iraq faced multiple problems maintaining its F-16s it has put aside a big ammount of money for the aquisition of JF-17 blk 3. There are multiple countries Like Iraq which are interested in JF-17. This also include Saudi Arabia which is one of the biggest customer of US warplanes. So its a matter of time before such countries get JF-17 in their fleet.

We should buy and make PAC-III SAMS to neutralize JF-17,F-16 threat as Patriot few day back shoot down F-16 of Ukraine ! If we able to make PAC-III in India it will be game changer for our air defence !

For your kind information ARAAQ AND AEZERBYJAAN are new customers of jf 17 block 3. Moreover Jf17 block 2 is a battle tested predator, in broad day light,in Feb 2019 with out any doubt.
Chinese are making and selling junk. It's original name is fc xiolong. pakis bought that and renamed jf17. Jf 17 is achinese waste product. I can't understand why pakisbate proud of a made in china junk sold to iraq and azebeijan. Second thing it's nowhere near battel tested. In Feb 2019 that jf17 didn't have bvr or aead radars for it to use for battle field. All f16 used with amarams. Chinese jf 17 will make you do another 93000 surrender in broad day light that happened in 1971.

Well, they don't have much planning to do. India's MKII's specifications are already out, they just have to better it a little bit and/or add some hype to their product - even if it does not match the LCA MKII's capabilities.
