The Indian Coast Guard (ICG) has taken a significant step towards strengthening its maritime search and rescue (SAR) capabilities with the procurement of advanced Global Maritime Distress Safety System (GMDSS) consoles.
The ICG Headquarters (ICG HQ) has signed a major contract with M/s Elcome Integrated Systems Pvt. Ltd. to equip 28 Maritime Rescue Sub Centres (MRSC) across India's vast coastline with the new communication systems.
