Through its strategic partnership with the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO), CUMI is bolstering the nation's self-reliance in defense technology while enhancing its preparedness.

Supplying Critical Components for Ballistic Protection​

CUMI's collaboration with DRDO centers on providing advanced ceramic materials that are vital for the manufacture of ballistic protection solutions. These materials are integral to the creation of lightweight bulletproof equipment and armored vehicles.

Remarkably, CUMI manufactures these ceramic plates and tiles domestically, demonstrating its dedication to promoting homegrown production within India's defense sector.

The lightweight ceramic ballistic protection materials developed by CUMI include reaction-bonded silicon carbide, high-purity alumina, and zirconia-toughened alumina.

These are designed to meet the demanding requirements of international standards like the National Institute of Justice (NIJ) ‘Level IV’ and STANAG Level 3.

The materials provide exceptional resistance against ballistic threats and can be tailored in size and shape to perfectly suit their integration into protective gear and vehicles.

Thermal Spray Coatings for Aerospace Advancement​
