India's Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) is poised to conduct trials of the third iteration of its Unmanned Launched Precision Guided Missile (ULPGM V3), marking a significant leap forward in unmanned aerial warfare capabilities.

This latest variant promises enhanced range, precision, and adaptability compared to its predecessors, further strengthening India's pursuit of self-reliance in defence technology.

The ULPGM V3 is a product of collaboration between DRDO and Adani Defence, with Adani Defence taking on the manufacturing responsibilities. This partnership exemplifies India's push to involve the private sector in defence production under the "Make in India" initiative.

DRDO has secured a hexacopter UAV for the upcoming testing phase of the ULPGM V3. With its increased range and precision, the ULPGM V3 is expected to significantly enhance the Indian military's capacity to conduct pinpoint strikes against strategic targets, particularly in scenarios where deploying traditional aircraft is challenging or risky.

This development highlights India's growing expertise in unmanned systems and its commitment to developing indigenous defence technologies. The ULPGM V3, once operational, could become a crucial asset for the Indian armed forces, providing them with a potent and versatile tool for precision strikes in modern warfare.

This is an essential missile that we need to launch from our own drones. We need to manufacture it 100% indigenously and ensure it’s very accurate and be able to destroy armoured vehicles and hardened bunkers if needed.
