Lahore, Pakistan – In a chilling act of violence, suspected terrorists abducted and murdered nine travelers from Punjab province in Pakistan's restive Balochistan region. The gunmen, who blocked a major highway, specifically targeted the victims' bus after checking passenger identification.
In a separate incident on the same highway, a car was attacked, resulting in one death and four injuries.
The abductees' bodies were later discovered under a nearby bridge, stripped of their identities, according to Noshki Station House Officer Asad Mengal. Authorities have not yet determined if the victims' personal belongings were taken.
In the second attack, the gunmen fired upon a car that failed to stop at their roadblock. The resulting gunfire and subsequent vehicle rollover led to the casualties. Among those injured is a brother of Provincial Assembly member Ghulam Dastgir Badini.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif swiftly condemned the attacks, offering condolences to the victims' families and vowing to bring the perpetrators to justice. "We stand with the bereaved families in this hour of grief," he declared, reaffirming the nation's commitment to eradicating terrorism.
Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti also expressed deep sorrow over the incident, condemning the violence and pledging to hold those responsible accountable.
