Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) is accelerating the development of the Indian Multi-Role Helicopter (IMRH), a medium-lift aircraft designed for diverse military roles.

HAL is pursuing business model development and strategic partnerships with suppliers and OEMs to expedite the program's progress.

The IMRH program holds immense potential for India, aiming to replace ageing helicopter fleets and bolster the country's defense technology self-reliance.

HAL Assembly Line is that place in the universe where time has stopped. It is the physicists love to call "Event Horizon".

The one place where clock still ticks inside a HAL campus is at their canteens where all the employees assemble, starting early morning 11:00 AM till their swipe out time at the gates in the afternoon.

To be precise, HAL Canteen is the most lively place inside any HAL campus.
Full of chats, giggles and activities. It is the Sangri-La where the smell of Coffee and Chai, everpresent in the atmosphere, keeps reminding every patron that their most desired plate of Samosas with accompaniment of chatni are going to make their grand appearance at their nearest friendly table very soon.

All this, while the assembly line lay deserted, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

😂😂😂
HAL always racing against time to achieve something.
Mostly losing the race.
First get GSQr of forces & start initial design process that alone will take 2yrs.
& getting Dac & ccs approval & fund releasing. Decade ends

HAL needs a proper engine first and they are just getting started with Safran to build a more powerful engine.
It will take years to do so.
Long slog to design and development.

Lol, time ticks slowly for HAL...more like they are on a different planet.
If these good for nothing screwdriver tech babus had even a simple understanding of urgency, they would have already completed things that they now plan to do over next 5 years

India can easily develop the IMRH by 2025 as it's been working on its design for a number of years now and they have already made deals in developing a brand new engine partnered with Safran and other than that most of the helicopter will be indigenously designed and developed in India. India has to make sure that HAL or another Indian private company will make the transmission, rotor systems and avionics. Those systems are crucial and they shouldn't just be a foreign model/version but manufactured under a license in India at all as they need to be indigenously developed technology from the start.

Although developed from the start as a transport helicopter its best if HAL doesn't install a weapons system just added on as it will limit its transport and armed capability. It's best if HAL designs a brand new medium weight dedicated attack helicopter which allows the helicopter to carry more advanced equipment, weapons and technology that you can't with a combination of both. As for the naval IMRH HAL will need to increase its travel range, carry more fuel and heavier weapons but should also have a separate transport version and a medium weight dedicated attack helicopter which can use the original attack helicopter and its technology.

Well Can't make the Helicopter by 2025 due to N number of reasons...

They are in preliminary design phase only

CCS approval for funds is pending

The joint venture between Safran & HAL for engine for IMRH is in first phase by 2024 or mid 2025 they will present the final roadmap..

Partnership with foreign OEM for parts is pending

Testing & Requirements by IAF , NAVY & Army is still pending

After that Trails , testing will take at least 3 years

By this timeline IMRH will be made earliest by 2028-29 , best case scenario production by 2030

Develop what by 2025?
Another model render ?
First flight IMHO 2028
then 5 years of testing
another 2 years to set up a production line etc etc

The design is frozen so now they just need to manufacture the engines as a deal has already been signed with Safran and they could start making it by 2024-2025. After receiving sanction from the government they could make the prototype/LSP variant and start testing it from 2028 onwards and then FOC variants from 2030 onwards.

Eating Samosas should be banned inside hal campus or nearby before starting the race.
