HAL Unveils Redesigned CATS Warrior Drone During Recent Test, Prioritising Flight Stability and Speed Alongside Stealth Capabilities

Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has revealed a redesigned version of its CATS Warrior drone, showcasing a full-scale demonstrator with significant modifications aimed at improving performance and stealth. These changes underscore HAL's commitment to advancing India's indigenous drone technology, particularly for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

One of the most noticeable alterations is the redesign of the air intake. Previous iterations featured a more angular, stealth-focused intake, which has been replaced with a smoother, curved design. While this change might slightly increase the engine's visibility and potentially the drone's radar cross-section, it offers crucial aerodynamic benefits.

The new intake geometry is engineered to better manage the boundary layer of air flowing close to the aircraft's surface. This reduces turbulence and ensures smoother airflow into the engines, potentially leading to improved engine performance and efficiency.
