The Indian Air Force (IAF) has deployed its contingent to Kuantan, Malaysia, to participate in the bilateral air exercise, Udara Shakti 2024. The exercise, which commenced on August 5th and will run until August 9th, aims to strengthen ties and foster knowledge exchange between the IAF and the Royal Malaysian Air Force (RMAF).
A key highlight of Udara Shakti 2024 will be the joint aerial maneuvers involving the IAF's Su-30 MKI fighter jets and the RMAF's Su-30 MKMs. These exercises are designed to enhance interoperability and operational coordination between the two air forces, while also providing a platform for pilots to learn from each other's expertise.
This year's Udara Shakti marks the fourth iteration of the series and the second time it has been held in Malaysia. It follows the inaugural exercise conducted in 2022 and builds upon the growing defence cooperation between India and Malaysia.
The exercise not only focuses on aerial maneuvers but also encompasses knowledge sharing on maintenance practices, further solidifying the partnership between the two air forces. By fostering mutual understanding and cooperation, Udara Shakti 2024 is expected to contribute significantly to regional security and stability.
