In a major step towards self-reliance in defence technology, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has chosen MKU's domestically developed NETRO NB-3101 Aviation Night Vision Goggles (ANVG) for its LCH Prachand helicopters.

This decision marks a significant milestone as it is the first time the IAF will be utilizing indigenously produced ANVGs for this advanced attack helicopter.

The selection of the NETRO NB-3101 comes after the IAF's successful experience with the same ANVG model on its Mi-17 helicopters. The goggles, developed by MKU Limited, a leading Indian defence manufacturer, reportedly impressed the IAF with their high performance and reliability, paving the way for their integration with the LCH Prachand.

Designed specifically for aircraft pilots, the NETRO NB-3101 boasts cutting-edge technology that significantly enhances night vision capabilities. Equipped with advanced optics and a Gen III Image Intensifier sensor, these goggles provide pilots with superior image quality and stereoscopic vision, crucial for low-altitude navigation and covert operations in challenging environments. This enhanced situational awareness allows pilots to maneuver safely and effectively in darkness.

Furthermore, the NETRO NB-3101 is built to withstand demanding operational conditions. Its rugged and waterproof design ensures durability and reliability, meeting the stringent MIL STG 810G military standard for environmental testing.

This move by the IAF not only strengthens the LCH Prachand's operational capabilities but also underscores India's growing focus on indigenous defence manufacturing. By choosing MKU's ANVG, the IAF is actively promoting self-reliance in critical military equipment and supporting the growth of the domestic defence industry.

The LCH Prachand, a multi-role combat helicopter developed by Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL), is designed to operate in various terrains and high-altitude environments.

The integration of the NETRO NB-3101 ANVGs will further enhance its operational capabilities, particularly during nighttime missions.

This Prachand must be armed with 35+ KM range NLOS, stringer, Hellfire missiles and 70mm laser/GPS guided rockets apart from Helina ATGMs !
