India Issues NOTAM for Military Exercise in Andaman and Nicobar Region Amidst Chinese Presence in IOR

India has announced a military firing exercise near the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, issuing a Notice to Airmen (NOTAM). The exercise, scheduled for March 29-30, 2024, will take place in a designated area spanning 380 kilometers in close proximity to the strategically vital Malacca Strait.

The timing of India's planned exercise coincides with the presence of the Chinese space tracking ship Yuan Wang 3 in the region. Defence analysts suggest this might be an indication that India could be test-firing the BrahMos supersonic cruise missile.

BrahMos missiles, deployed in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, are a significant deterrent against potential Chinese incursions into the Indian Ocean Region (IOR) in times of conflict. Their unmatched speed and precision are a core element of India's defence strategy.

The Andaman and Nicobar Islands are of significant strategic importance to India. Their location near the Malacca Strait, one of the world's busiest shipping lanes, makes them crucial to India's maritime interests. Frequent military exercises allow India to maintain its readiness and strengthen its position in the IOR.

Though the NOTAM confirms a military exercise, the specific type of weaponry to be used has not been disclosed. However, the BrahMos missile system is a likely candidate given the presence of the Yuan Wang 3 and the strategic significance of the location.

Whatever they test India has to be careful not to reveal our missile capabilities to China and we conduct the tests when they aren’t able to see it. We should trick them by issuing several fake NOTAM and hide the actual test location and missile type within those notices. We need to send our Dhruv and Anvesh to those locations and wreak havoc on their systems by our EW and ESM.
