INS Shivalik, a prominent Indian Navy warship, has arrived in Guam, a U.S. territory, for an operational turnaround following its successful participation in the recently concluded multinational maritime exercise RIMPAC 2024.
The visit is part of the Indian Navy's Eastern Fleet's broader operational deployment to the South China Sea and the Pacific Ocean, signifying India's growing naval presence in the region.
During the ship's stay in Guam, the crew has planned various activities, including interactions with the Governor of Guam and Commander (Navy Region Marianas), alongside professional exchanges with the US Navy. Cross-deck visits, sports events, and community outreach programs are also scheduled to foster goodwill and strengthen bilateral ties.
INS Shivalik's visit to Guam underscores the growing cooperation between India and the United States in the maritime domain.
