CHANDIGARH, July 31 – The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) today successfully demonstrated the advanced capabilities of the 'Typhoon' vehicle at its Transport Battalion in Chandigarh. This trial, attended by officials from Vehicle Factory Jabalpur, marks a pivotal step in modernizing the force's logistical and operational capabilities.

The Typhoon-K, a multi-purpose all-terrain vehicle, is poised to become a cornerstone of the ITBP's operations. Its versatility allows it to serve as a troop carrier, cargo transporter, and platform for various technical systems and weaponry. Available in both 6×6 and 4×4 variants, the Typhoon is designed to conquer challenging terrains with exceptional mobility, protection, and firepower.

Equipped with high-performance diesel engines and automatic transmissions, the Typhoon can effortlessly navigate rugged landscapes, ford water bodies, and maintain high speeds on paved roads. Its hydropneumatic suspension system ensures a comfortable ride for personnel while adapting to diverse terrains.

Safety is a top priority, and the Typhoon excels in this regard. Its robust construction offers superior protection against mines and ballistic threats. The crew and passengers are further shielded by special seats and advanced armor, minimizing the impact of explosions.

The Typhoon vehicle will be locally produced by Vehicle Factory Jabalpur under license from the Russian company KAMAZ. This move not only strengthens the 'Make in India' initiative but also ensures a steady supply of these crucial vehicles for the ITBP.

The induction of the Typhoon vehicle into the ITBP fleet underscores the force's dedication to enhancing operational efficiency and ensuring the safety of its personnel. With this addition, the ITBP is better equipped to tackle the demanding challenges of its duties with increased confidence and capability.

When local companies can make such type of vehicles, screwdriver giri is disgusting.
