Bengaluru, India – As India-US defence ties continue to deepen, Lockheed Martin is set to host the 10th edition of its India Suppliers Conference on September 11-12, 2024, in Bengaluru.

This pivotal event, occurring just before Prime Minister Narendra Modi's US visit, aims to bolster India's indigenous defence manufacturing capabilities by connecting Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) with the global supply chain.

The conference, inaugurated by Karnataka's IT Minister Priyank Kharge and US Consul General Christopher Hodges, will provide a platform for Indian suppliers to interact with Lockheed Martin's global partners and explore new business opportunities. This aligns with India's "Make in India" and "Make for the World" initiatives, emphasizing the country's ambition to become a major defence exporter.

Michael Fernandez, Lockheed Martin's India Country Head, expressed enthusiasm about the conference, highlighting its role in strengthening India's defence manufacturing ecosystem. He emphasized that the event resonates with Prime Minister Modi's vision of making India a global defence manufacturing hub.

The conference agenda includes presentations by Lockheed Martin representatives, recognition of outstanding Indian suppliers, and in-person meetings with the company's supply chain and business development teams. Indian MSMEs will also have the opportunity to showcase their capabilities to a global audience.

With over seven decades of association and three decades of partnership with India, Lockheed Martin remains committed to nurturing collaborations with the local industry. The India Suppliers Conference is a testament to this commitment, aiming to further advance India's strategic security and industrial capabilities.
