This agility is crucial for swift responses in today's dynamic battlefield scenarios. The vehicle's addition to the Army's northern command further solidifies its role in safeguarding India's borders.

Bharat Forge asserts that the M4 can withstand significant blasts, including three 10 kg TNT explosives under its wheels and a 50 kg IED blast on one side. This resilience is vital for ensuring the safety of soldiers in combat zones.

Both L&T and Bharat Forge are also engaged in light tank program, glad to see them progress from manufacturing foreign armoured vehicles to R&D for tanks.

I believe this vehicle is a licensed version of a South African vehicle, forgot its name, but nonetheless it's good start for the private sector as in a decade or so with substantial order book, they can produce their own clean slate designs.

Baba Kalyani will be remebered as the icon who broke the back of OFB babus and arm twisted the looser MoD bureaucrats into accepting domestically manufactured items without under the table dealings!
Watch his documentary on Youtube....they are doing awesome indeginous work, steadily climbing up the value chain with each passing year....are they like BAE, not yet, but they are on their way to compete heads-on by the end of this decade!

That reminds me of the famous South African mine protected troop carrier which became infamous because they were deployed by the then regime against the anti-apartheid activists. It was called the Casspir. It has been iconic and still quite popular
