The latest edition of the MILAN naval exercise showcased impressive international participation, with 35 units – including ships, submarines, and aircraft – actively involved, according to the Indian Navy. Of these, a remarkable 13 ships and one aircraft represented Friendly Foreign Countries.
This year's exercise made history with the unprecedented presence of two Indian naval aircraft carriers, INS Vikrant and INS Vikramaditya, at the same exercise. The closing ceremony took place aboard INS Vikrant, with Commanding Officers from all 35 participating units gathering off the coast of Visakhapatnam.
The closing ceremony featured a comprehensive debriefing focused on the operational aspects of the Sea Phase. This valuable exchange allowed participating navies to share insights, best practices, and build a deeper understanding to enhance interoperability, the Navy reports.
The successful culmination of the MILAN exercise aboard INS Vikrant highlights the power of international maritime cooperation in strengthening regional security and stability.
