The Royal Moroccan Army is reportedly planning to significantly expand its fleet of Tata 6x6 LPTA 2445 trucks following the impressive performance of an initial batch delivered last year.

The Indian-manufactured trucks, originally intended for ammunition transport and handling, have exceeded expectations in a variety of roles, particularly during the recent earthquake relief efforts in Al Hoceima.

Sources indicate that the trucks’ robust design and adaptability have made them a valuable asset to the Moroccan military. Built on the Tata 1623 platform and incorporating technology from the Czech Tatra 815, the LPTA 2445 has proven its durability and reliability in Morocco's challenging terrain. This success has positioned Tata Group as a frontrunner for securing further contracts to supply the Royal Moroccan Army with additional trucks.

The LPTA 2445 is a 6x6 military vehicle renowned for its off-road capabilities and versatility. It can be configured for a wide range of tasks, including troop transport, logistics support, and specialized operations. The truck's ability to handle both demanding military operations and humanitarian missions has reportedly been a key factor in the Moroccan Army's decision to procure more units.

This potential deal represents a significant win for Tata Group, showcasing its growing prominence in the international defence market. The company's ability to deliver high-performance military vehicles that meet global standards is further solidified by the LPTA 2445's success in Morocco.

By leveraging proven technology and adapting it to specific operational needs, Tata Group continues to strengthen its position as a key player in the global defence logistics sector.

All those people who criticize Tatra should read this article. TATA trucks are based on the design of TATRA trucks.
Nothing wrong in that,as you will naturally learn from a successful design and manufacturer. This is what private sector is all about, initially they too do screw driver assembly, but later on with large enough orders, they steadily build their own. This is what I argue when folks point out that private firms like Adani, Ambani or TATA are just doing as they are newer to this sector.

The issue with TATRA has nothing to do with those Czech trucks, but the fact that PSUs have not gone beyond the screw driver phase even after assembling them for about 30 years, with them still having left hand steering after all these years.

Tata 6X6 is not based on Tatra platform. This is completely new platform that we build from scratch . Aim was to create the best vehicle for indian army and result we got in Thailand trials where in some extreme test only our vehicle crossed the hurdle. We were like ye gadi aisa bhi kr skti hai. At that time we realise, we have created a beast.

This is good news and our companies should export more to other countries. The Tata truck isn’t a licensed truck from Tatra at all. This is an indigenous truck that may have copied some ideas and design from them visually but ultimately it’s an Indian designed and manufactured truck.
