PTC Industries Limited, a leading Indian manufacturer of high-quality engineering metal components, has secured a significant production order from global defence giant BAE Systems.

The agreement will see PTC Industries supply critical titanium castings for the production of the M777 Ultra-Lightweight Howitzer (ULH), a highly mobile artillery weapon used by armed forces around the world.

The contract involves the manufacture of specialized titanium castings for key components of the M777 ULH, including the spade trails and blades. These components are crucial for the howitzer's stability and operation.

PTC Industries invested two years in the development of these complex, thin-walled titanium castings, highlighting their advanced technological capabilities and commitment to meeting the stringent requirements of the defence sector.

The castings will be produced at PTC Industries' state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh. This aligns with the Indian government's "Make in India – Make for the World" initiative, which aims to boost domestic manufacturing and promote exports.

The M777 ULH is renowned for its exceptional mobility, a key factor in modern warfare. Weighing approximately 4.2 metric tons, it is the lightest 155mm towed howitzer available, thanks in large part to the extensive use of lightweight titanium castings. This allows the M777 to be easily transported by helicopter, enhancing its rapid deployment capabilities.

"We are thrilled to receive this serial production order from BAE Systems for this significant project," said Mr. Sachin Agarwal, Chairman & Managing Director of PTC Industries. "This order not only strengthens our partnership with BAE Systems but also demonstrates our expertise in producing highly complex titanium castings for critical defence applications. This places us among a select group of companies worldwide with this specialized capability."

This contract reinforces PTC Industries' position as a key player in the global defence supply chain. The company's ability to deliver high-quality, lightweight titanium castings is crucial for the continued production and maintenance of the M777 ULH, a vital artillery system used by numerous countries, including the United States and India.
