Security Forces Secure Swift Rescue of Kidnapped Army Officer in Manipur

Thoubal, Manipur – A Junior Commissioned Officer (JCO) of the Indian Army, Naib Subedar Konsam Kheda Singh, was safely rescued in Manipur's Thoubal district on Friday after being abducted from his home earlier in the day.

Singh, a resident of Charangpat Mamang Leikai and currently on leave, was reportedly abducted by unidentified armed men around 9 am. Security forces responded rapidly, launching a coordinated search operation across the region.

Their determined efforts successfully resulted in Singh's rescue by 6:30 pm. The rescued officer is currently located at the Waikhong Police Station, where the Manipur Police are leading an investigation into the circumstances of the abduction.

This incident highlights the volatile security situation in Manipur, where various armed groups remain active. The motive behind the abduction remains under investigation.

No, lethal action will cross red line. These militants could have rortured and killed this officer but they didnt. Army could break a few bones and give them a beating. Using lethal violence would push these militants undergrpund and result in insurgency. Right now, there is lawlessness but bloodshed is minimised. Only way out is mediations and peace talks.

These people are not terrorists who are fighting against Indian state. Fighting is happening in between kukis and meitis. Both are Indian. No one wants independence. Army's job is to kill terrorists.

That being said, i do believe that lathis can be used to give these people a beating so they dont repeat this act.
